SERENE CHILDHOOD

From the isolated streets, from the building's stairs
In unknown districts, industrial dormitory
We played in the streets, dressed like children
Thefts in supermarkets, escapes and vandalisms

Serene childhood - Among Marghera's chimneys
Serene childhood - In the human suburbs

But from the isolated streets and from ours buildings
Feelings are true, hate grows up
Tremble middle class! In your royal palaces
The serene childhood's gonna get its consequences

Yeas pass over, someone works, someone still studies
Someone rebels, someone remains slave of the masters
But there's no future him who grows in the fog
From an exployed father, unployed son

To make one rich you need many poor men
To make one rich you need too many poor men

Comment:

Serene Childhood talks about our childhood. We live in the suburbs of Venice, so close to the center but so far from the "romantic city" that all around us you can see only chimneys. Marghera and Mestre are almost the same town: in the first one people go to work in the big factories, in the second one people go to sleep and to breath pollution. Around 60% of us die for a cancer.
