travel by boat

Unfortunately I didn't feel confortable to show the camera and take pictures, people may find it silly. I'll try by words to describe the suggestive atmosphere.

waiting for the boat

The boat was leaving from Lupingu at 5 a.m. We were waiting in the darkness sat on some branches on the beach looking at the sky and trying to hold a conversation. Somebody had to signal to the boat that we were waiting there. The boat had no light except for a small torch of one guy sitting on the front. The boat approached to the beach and we had to climb with the luggages on the wooden architecture of the boat. The boat had really high bords and a large roof with a plastic sheet to cover from the rain. The boat was full with luggages, sacks with food, chickens, goats...

travel

The total travel took ten hours, the boat stopped tens of times on the way, sometimes even 50 m from the last stop. On the way there were many small fishermen's boats approaching us, giving some material to carry, passanger, selling food on the way or just greeting. They were offering fried bananas and fish, steamed corn, bread... The travel was tiring and there was not enough space for everybody to sit against the board. We were turning the seats so that everybody could have some rest. There were many mothers with the child that were not complaining too much considering the situation. Of course just one stop for peeing, children included.
