Some notes about users' privacy

Autistici/Inventati do their best not to keep data in their servers which could help identify people surfing their sites. It is thus important for webmasters to pay attention to the functions of the software they choose to install: many visit counters and many CMSs record for instance visitors' IPs (independently from the global settings of the A/I servers), and it is crucial to chek that these functions are disabled.

Some notes about webmasters' privacy

It can be useful for webmasters to remember that the servers are not responsible for your web site content. We suggest you to read more about this, considering that FTP protocol does not allow for encryption and that anybody can easily identify the IP of the computer you are updating your web site from, as well as you user name, your password and your site content. For further details, we advise you to read our howto.

We would also like to remind you that our servers offer many different services and are to date an important communication instrument for thousands of activists. We hope that being aware about this helps reduce the troubles which may arise due to a careless use of your web space.

Last but not least, our servers only keep the logs wich are strictly necessary for debugging operations.
